Elko is one of our Super Six - the six Lebanese street dogs who we'll be bringing home over the next few months. Elko used to be a pet, until his owners decided they no longer wanted to care for him and turned him out on the streets.
According to locals in the area, he had been roaming the streets ever since, desperately hoping for a second chance that never came. Once we heard about Elko’s story, we knew we had to step in and save him.
Elko was in a bad way physically as you can see from the initial photos: he had an awful case of mange and has had to have his front leg amputated. But look at him now!
Despite it all, he's a friendly dog who doesn't seem to have let his terrible luck turn him against humans.
As with all our rescues, we’re committed to ensuring that all Elko’s veterinary needs are met before he is rehomed, and will work closely with his adopters to provide all the aftercare he might need to rehabilitate.
Elko won't be ready to fly to the UK until around September, so we're looking for prospective adopters that are willing to give him a forever home. If you think you could be the perfect human for this amazing boy, please fill in an Adoption Form.
