Roo is a lovely natured, clever girl. Renamed after the Winnie-the-Pooh character, she’s a cute bundle of joy that loves to jump! She is very active, loves running fast and chases squirrels and birds at every chance she gets. But she is great at recall and direction. She is good with other dogs off lead and likes to play with puppies.
Roo is very affectionate with those she is close to. She loves being cuddled, stroked and patted but if you stop she doesn’t mind telling you to continue by gently nibbling on your hand.
She thoroughly enjoys her food and treats and if you give her a bone, she will often run away with it and bury it in the garden.
Her crate is her safe space and she will happily sleep there all night. At home, she can be quite territorial especially when there is a delivery, so she needs some training and could really benefit from a house that isn’t situated on a busy street because she tends to bark at people she can see outside.
She is nervous in cars but is now happy to sit in the boot with a cosy blanket for comfort. She is best suited to a family that doesn’t have children because she can be quite unpredictable around them which is likely due to nervousness around them. She is also nervous around males, particularly when entering her space, so she needs a lot of positive reinforcement training around them.
Roo would be a perfect dog for a couple who are going to give her plenty of reassurance and love, and help her to combat some of her anxieties with training.
