This handsome boy is Fred and so far he's been completely overlooked since arriving in the pound. He and his sister, Flo, arrived in the pound in June, most likely abandoned after their previous owner realised they were going to be large in size as adults. Flo quickly found a home but poor Fred has been left behind and still hasn't been spotted by the right person.
Fred is a delightful boy who would make a loyal, loving family friend. He shares a kennels with another male and they get on very well. Equally, with other kennel mates when they play out in the yard together Fred loves their company and enjoys chasing them and socialising. He would be well suited to a home with another dog. Fred has also shown himself to be fine with cats, but as ever we must point out this does not mean there is a guarantee he would get along with resident cats without training and perseverance.
Although Fred can be a little timid when he meets new people, which few people seem to expect from a large dog, he overcomes this with some gentle cuddling and treats. He's an active dog and definitely needs an active home in a semi-rural area. A garden would be preferable. Due to his size and slight timidness we would recommend Fred goes to a home with older children so as to avoid either party becoming overwhelmed.
