Daisy was purchased from a breeder as a puppy and given to a child as a birthday present, but as she grew up and the novelty wore off her owners grew tired of having to be responsible for her. They admitted to a shelter that they were not 'dog people' and left her there without a second thought. Daisy was absolutely petrified to have been left alone. Thankfully she was offered a foster home that promised to keep her safe until a she finds a family to adopt her.
Now Daisy feels safe, she is becoming more and more confident every day. She's now very sociable and playful, and her adorable nature is difficult not to love. Once you have gained her trust she shows ever so much affection. She's not a snappy little dog and she loves to snuggle, give kisses and play.
It's unlikely that Daisy's original home ever gave her the respect and adoration that she deserved and craved. She can be timid in new situations but with reassurance and kindness Daisy settles in time and will make a very loyal companion in the right home. She would be better suited to a home with older children so as not to overwhelm her, and would enjoy the company of someone who perhaps works from home sometimes or is retired. Daisy enjoys the company of other dogs but prefers them to be of a similar temperament to her (although she has befriended a Rottweiler!), and once she trusts them she loves to try and play, although she's not quite worked out how to yet - we don't think she's ever had another canine friend to learn from.
