Bonnie previously lived in a house with two other dogs but her owners had severe learning difficulties. The local mayor was made aware of these dogs and appealed to a local shelter to look after them instead.
Bonnie initially had a tick borne disease but has since been treated and is doing very well, she has no signs of suffering since being treated. She was also so frightened at first that whenever a human got close to her she wet herself.
However, after 6 months of one-to-one attention and love, Bonnie now happily approaches volunteers and even new visitors to the shelter. She is currently living with one of the volunteers as she loves humans and attention, although she does snore a bit!
Bonnie loves pack walks with the other dogs and is very bouncy and playful. She is very fond of humans, attaching herself to them and proving her loyalty. If another dog is getting the attention instead of her she can get a bit jealous!
Bonnie still gets a little scared by loud noises but settles again with some reassurance. She can also be wary of new people, especially tall men so will need lots of positive reinforcement to overcome her fear.
Bonnie will be ready to travel from early September.
