On Friday 11 November, Wild at Heart Foundation hosted its first event. ‘One Night Only’, our inaugural art fundraiser with beautiful art donated by over 30 artists.
The evening was a dazzling success, a truly wonderful occasion. Words really cannot describe how very grateful we are to EVERYONE – to Josh Lilley for providing the amazing space in which to share our artwork, our story and passion. To Pascale Cohen, our superb event director, who created the concept for this tremendous event and for making it come to life. To the marvellous Wild at Heart who sponsored the event supplying the wine, catering and their fabulous floral displays. To our incredible artists who donated their exquisite artwork, without which we could not have raised such valuable funds, ‘thank you!’…

A special thank you goes to Simeon Farrar for designing and supplying the most marvellous sweatshirts – which sold out in three hours! To the bombastic DJ's, Nikki Beatnic and Harriet Rose for blasting such great tunes and creating a wonderful atmosphere. To Trace PR for being PR supremo’s, creating enthusiasm and fervour for our events and our mission. To Hayley Newstead who donated the beautifully coloured NYC leads and Jesse Dunfood-Wood from Parlour for the fab food.
To our incredible WaHF team – Emma Turner, Sofia Guerriero, Eve Moore, Leah Hunt, Andrew Judd, Faith Huseyin, Melanie Brown, Anca Constantin, David Drew, Amy McBean, Kate Sullivan, Camilla Ghiassee and Polly Boltwood – we could not have achieved this without you! You are the glue that holds our charity together and makes us stronger and better every day. We love each and every one of you.
But most of all ...
... to our friends, our adopters, our supporters, our dogs. We called and you came! Over 250 people turned up to our event, plus many of our wonderful rescue dogs. WE WERE AMAZED and so grateful. You came with open hearts and wallets. We shared a glass or two, some great conversation and laughter... and then you bought the art, the sweatshirts and donated. Thank you. We are humbled by your generosity and your kind words. This makes us want to work even harder to reach our goal of reducing the world’s 600 million stray dog population – and with YOU we will. Thank you so very much.
What happens next?
With the money raised we will begin our programme to reduce the stray dog population on the island of Lesvos. Working with one of our Greek partners, we will use this project as a ‘model’ for future neutering campaigns in other parts of the world. Our goal is to make Lesvos ‘stray dog free’! Our project will start with a programme to audit the number of stray dogs on the island and then zone the island into sections and begin to systematically ‘trap, neuter and release’ until all stray dogs are neutered. More news on this exciting and progressive approach to humanely managing strays coming soon.
