Bertie arrived in the UK in January 2018 but found an urban environment too overwhelming. He has since been in long term foster in Leicestershire where he has made amazing progress!
Bertie has the most gentle nature and he’s a fantastic companion. He’s never chewed a cushion, he’s house trained and absolutely loves a good cuddle!
Bertie enjoys meeting other dogs in a home or garden environment, but because he finds it difficult being out and about in busy areas he can feel tense when on lead which leads to reactivity towards other dogs.
He knows basic commands and has good recall however he will need ongoing training to help him overcome his reactivity.
We think that Bertie would benefit from a home with an already established dog as he loves to run and play with them. Although he is a small dog he has bursts of energy and loves to be running about outdoors.
Bertie is fantastic with children of all ages, he loves nothing more than snuggling up with them and aside from a little playful teasing, he also gets on fine with the cat of the household too.
Bertie will be best suited to at least a semi-rural environment.
