We have now had Frankie now for a few weeks! We were also a little bit anxious about adopting a rescue dog as you are obviously unaware of their behavioural traits, and as we have 2 children and another dog (a yellow Labrador) we wanted to be certain that another dog would fit into our family life. Well Frankie certainly has!
We feel like we have had him forever. He is adorable, intelligent, amazing with the kids, and with Jock our other dog! He is of course still a puppy so does occasionally like to chance stealing a piece of cake if the opportunity arises, however we have been training him and he is becoming much more obedient. He loves going out for walks, he is great on the lead and we have just started to take him off the lead and he adores having a play and run with Jock, and he does come back! Both he and Jock sleep in the utility room together, and have done since day one, and we have had no problems at all. They love each other's company!
His favourite spot to chill out is on the rug in front of the fire! I can confirm he is very loving and not aggressive at all. He is a little wary of new people, especially men, but really has taken to my husband now. Being that it is half term this week we have had so many kids come through our door that I believe this has been great for Frankie in terms of getting used to new people! We did find in the beginning when he was very wary of new people to ignore him and he would then in his own time happily approach them.
