Raposa means 'Fox' in Portuguese, which is very fitting for this beautiful girl and her unique appearance. Raposa and her puppies were abandoned on the streets and were later rescued and brought to the safety of the shelter. She is approximately a year old and has already been spayed. Raposa is a very calm, laidback young dog who is highly attentive and very intelligent. She would excel in training as she loves to learn and is keen to please.
Raposa loves attention from people but will wait patiently for it rather than jumping all over you. She loves to lean in for a cuddle but is never demanding or overbearing. She is well socialised with all other dogs, both males and females, large and small. She is very well behaved and obedient, and loves to mingle with the other shelter dogs. Raposa is trusting around people and would love to have her own family.
Raposa will do anything for a treat and walks well on the lead. She has been caring for her puppies ever since she arrived at the shelter and has been a fantastic mum despite only being a puppy herself when she gave birth. She is an adaptable, healthy, happy and loving dog who would make a great companion. She would be best suited to a home in a semi-rural area with fields and nature trails to explore. Although the shelter has not had the chance to test her with children properly, we are confident Raposa would bond well with children in a family home.
