Josie has had a terrible introduction to life and as a result this has left some emotional scars. At some point in her short life she has been abused to the point that she does not fully trust people. Since coming to the shelter a lot of work has been done with her and she is much brighter and has learnt that not everyone means her harm.
Josie was found on the streets with her litter of puppies, she was such a good mum that she tried to keep her babies safe by nesting them deep in a tunnel, which proved very difficult when rescuers came. Luckily all were saved and the puppies have now all been rehomed but Josie is still waiting.
Josie is very shy and would need someone who can spend time with her and continue to build her confidence. Once she is relaxed and knows the people around her she is the most affectionate and happy dog that would do anything for you. She adores going for walks and stays close by, she also enjoys playing and running with other dogs so would be happy to be homed with one.
