Martha is a very pretty mixed breed who was rescued from a council pound along with her siblings. They were at risk of being put to sleep as the pound had reached its capacity and were looking to euthanise dogs to keep their numbers down. A local rescuer offered the three puppies refuge in her shelter and there they will remain until they can find their forever homes.
Martha is a little nervous around strangers which is understandable as she's not had very enjoyable experiences at the hands of humans. With a little patience and consistency, Martha will come out of her shell and become a part of the family. She is only young so luckily she is still at an impressionable age. She is good with other dogs and enjoys their company, and with people she knows she is very loving and sweet natured.
Martha would prefer a home in a semi-rural environment where it's not too loud or busy. She would be better with children that have some understanding of rescue dogs and their experiences as loud reactions and a busy household might overwhelm her. Little Martha will blossom in the right environment and we are hopeful that someone will be willing to offer her a second chance before too long.
