Mia was living in the back garden of a family home in Bosnia, however she became pregnant as she was free roaming during the day and the family refused to neuter her. When she delivered her puppies, the family didn't want to responsibility of them and drove them into the woods. Mia, like any mother would, refused to give up on her babies and chased the car the whole way, only stopping when her owner stopped to dump them. She never returned home and chose her puppies over her owner. A neighbour later reported the incident and asked for help, as she couldn't bear to leave Mia and her babies alone.
Mia is fiercely protective of her babies, particularly after having them taken from her once before. Four of the six made it, and they're now growing up and can be rehomed when they're old enough. Now they're mobile and starting to eat solids, Mia watches them tentatively. She is very good mother. It's time now that we started looking for a home for her, one where she will be properly cared for and loved.
Mia is a lovely dog with a gorgeous character. She is friendly with people and well socialised with other dogs. She is brilliant with children and has a relatively calm disposition. She would enjoy a home in a quieter environment with a nice surrounding area for her to explore on walks.
