Hudson was rescued from a council pound in Cyprus shortly before he was scheduled to be euthanised after the capacity of the pound surpassed its limit. He arrived in the UK with another companion dog from the same shelter but sadly Hudson is not settling in as well as his friend is and his current home feel they can't offer him everything he needs.
Hudson is an energetic dog who loves to be outdoors. Off lead Hudson has a fantastic time exploring, socialising and running around with other dogs. He is very friendly and playful and enjoys the company of other dogs. However Hudson is not used to being on the lead as he never had this experience when living in the shelter, so becomes stressed, pulls and barks. This is something that can be trained out of his system but will require patience and understanding. Hudson is a young and highly intelligent dog, so we don't foresee this setting him back for too long. His behaviour on the lead has already improved since arriving in the UK so with focused training we're confident Hudson will only improve.
Hudson is house trained and food orientated, so keen to learn new things with food as the reward. He also loves the company of humans and is very playful and affectionate. He enjoys being a part of a family and would be best suited to a home with an active lifestyle in a semi-rural environment. Because he is a young and smart dog, when alone he can get bored and therefore naughty, so a family that can offer him some daytime company or take him to work would be ideal. However daycare or a regular dog walker would also work well, he just needs that mental stimulation throughout the day so as not to become restless.
Hudson would thrive in a home where he is the only dog so he can lap up the attention and training that he craves, or with a dog of a similar temperament. He is a lovely dog and is being rehomed as the current owners feel they cannot give him the care and training he needs to flourish.
He is currently living in Cambridgeshire, so we can arrange for anyone interested to go and meet him. If you're interested in offering Hudson a home please get in touch!
