Hector is urgently looking for a place to live after unforeseen circumstances have meant that him and his three canine friends are being forced out of their former home. His owner is looking for someone that can offer him a loving, stable and understanding home. Hector was rescued from the streets of Romania and was incredibly traumatised from his experience, which had left emotional scars. He was panicky and destructive, but has now learnt that people can be trusted and his confidence has grown loads since he arrived in the UK.
It is important that Hector is rehomed with someone who is used to dogs that have territorial issues and suffer with fear aggression when around other dogs. He is neutered, fine with females, but feels undermined by other males and this makes him panic.
Pointers are not the right kind of dogs to be around small furry animals, and Hector is no exception. He should not go to a home that has cats or other accessible furry creatures, as his natural instinct with be hard to control and he will become fixed on them, as the majority of gundogs do. Because of his nervous disposition, it is recommended that Hector only goes to a home with older children.
Hector is a loving, affectionate boy but needs someone to understand that the hardships he has faced have left deep internal scars and that patience is the key to helping the boy settle in a new home.
