Buddy was found by a lovely lady who spotted him hanging around outside her place of work. She took an instant shine to Buddy and vowed to help him to ensure he wasn't taken to a council pound. Although Buddy was skinny and scared, he quickly gained confidence and the vet confirmed he was in good health aside from needing to gain a little weight. Despite posting his photo across social media and on lost pet pages, no one claimed Buddy and he remains homeless.
Buddy is now in the care of a secure shelter and is looking for a family of his own. He's a very happy, enthusiastic dog with a big heart and lots of character. Buddy is very energetic and requires an active home with a garden. He's a good boy but his energy levels mean he can get excited so we think a home with older children would be best for him. He's still very young and can be bouncy, but he's also very intelligent and will respond well to training and boundaries once he has more understanding of them and someone who has the time to help Buddy learn. He's never had his own human, so it will be a big learning curve for him but we expect him to make great progress in the right environment.
Buddy is great with other dogs but his energy can be too much for some, although he has calmed down considerably since he was initially found. He would enjoy a home with another dog so they can play together and also so he can learn how to be a companion dog by following in their footsteps, as it's important to remember he's never had this opportunity before. Buddy would make a great running partner and would love a home in a more rural area as he loves being outdoors. He is a fabulous boy and will make a loyal friend given the chance. He is also very affectionate and loves cuddles.
