Ariel is a stunning Shepherd who was one of 55 dogs that had their lives threatened by the local council after the pound in which they resided was closed due to poor conditions. All the dogs we given 15 days to be removed before they were to be put to sleep. Luckily, Ariel was one of the first dogs to make his way out of the pound as he was reserved for foster with a view to adoption in Sweden. However, this later fell through, and now ironically Ariel is the last of the 55 pound dogs to find a home of his own.
We managed to ensure his life was still saved by moving him from the pound in Mostar to a shelter in Sarajevo, but no dog wants to stay in kennels forever and Ariel is very deserving of a forever home. As a slightly larger sized dog,, adopters are not drawn to him in the way they are to small, fluffy puppies, but they are missing out on a treat. Ariel is gentle, calm, sweet natured, smart and balanced dog. He is attentive and affectionate, and he would love a family. He has lived between the streets and the pounds all his life, but his adaptable nature would make him a brilliant companion and he will settle in easily with a little patience and understanding.
Ariel is fantastic with humans and loves other dogs. He is always happy to see you and his gentle disposition has been commented on by the kennel staff many times. This handsome boy deserves a home, so who is going to offer him the second chance he needs?
